DETAILS: Sony AME media with SmartClean cartridges can actually hold more data than many cartridges that are three times its size. Native capacity is 60 GB, and that's boosted to 150 GB with the M2 drive's compression. The cartridge also offers an Advanced Metal Evaporated (AME) Tape patented process for depositing a pure metal magnetic layer directly on the base film without adhesives or binders. AME allows a maximum recording performance. Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) Coating protects the tape with a smooth coating 20 times harder than metal oxides to safeguard your data and extend the cartridge life. The SmartClean technology in the cartridge includes two meters of cleaning material that's used whenever the drive detects the need, simplifying operation and lowering operating cost.
